Keola has the very unfortunate habit of writing to Hawaii politicians and major companies under the pen name, "Wendell Hehena." For those in the know, "Hehena" is the Hawaiian word for "Lunatic."
Here is Keola's actual letter sent to Big Island mayor, Harry Kim. We are still patiently waiting for a response. Please support our website so we can pay for Keola's therapy and discourage him from this behavior.
Mayor Harry Kim 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawaii 96720
Dear Mayor Kim,
I have an idea that I would like to share with you about your beautiful town!
The other day, I was sitting around eating Doritos with my pet mongoose, "Cedrick". I got Cedrick from an alcoholic mime at a speak out for America rally.
Anyway, we were wondering if it might be possible to change the name of the city of Hilo to;
Gi-lo
Cool huh? Kind of what Jennifer Lopez did with her name, but much more emotionally complex.
Will you please write to me and tell me how to get this done? I am very motivated and I have good people skills. I think you are the best mayor ever! Please make a bumper sticker that says, Harry Kim Rules!, so I can put it on my skateboard and on all the cars in my neighborhood.
Do I need to form a committee? How about a petition? Is a campaign song a good thing or does it detract from the issue?
Someday I may be writing to you and addressing my letter to Gi-lo, Hawaii. This is so exciting! Cedrick and I can't wait! Sincerely,
